Pictures paint a thousand words but tell only a fraction of the story. I've been producing digital work in various shapes and forms for 15 years. The projects I've delivered encompass talented teams, amazing suppliers, gracious clients and thousands of hours of hard work. In parts of my portfolio the few screenshots on display sum up the entirety of the work. In others they barely scratch the surface, representing only a portion of the scope. And then there's the work not pictured. A multi-domain analytics implementation strategy isn't as photogenic as you'd think. And then there are all the banners...
Still, I like the pictures. They remind me of the fun I've had. And whether it be developing a strategy to sell muesli bars, cracking an idea to save men on Valentine's day, making a million people's lives easier by moving a login box or getting a webcam 50 feet up a tree, I've had a lot of fun.
Of course to have the pictures you need to have done the work. And while there's generally celebration and sense of accomplishment, it does mean this is all in the past.
I'd like to think the best is yet to come.
